Are You an Eagle or a Chicken?
Who do you think you are?
Color inside the lines.
Play by the rules.
Don’t covet attention.
We are taught early, in our youth, what is expected of us.
Follow the leader.
Go with the flow.
Don’t rock the boat.
Those lessons on conformity are reinforced daily.
Stay in your lane.
Fall in line.
Don’t make waves.
So, by the time we become adults, we are trained. Trained to be average. Trained to be compliant. Trained to perform at the direction of others.
What if you had been taught different lessons?
Be creative.
Pave a new path.
Innovate a new solution.
Take a chance.
Initiate a different action.
Get the ball rolling.
Follow your dreams.
What if you were trained that there are no limits, no rules, no judgements?
Who would you be?
My musings today were inspired by a parable I once heard called, “The Chicken and the Eagle.” You can watch a lovely 2-minute video of this story here:
It’s never too late to be who you are meant to be.
It’s never too late to stretch your wings and fly.
