One Step Forward, Two Steps Back

Lately it feels like I am moving one step forward and two steps back.

I debated writing this in my message this week because I feel it is my mission to be empowering and uplifting. 

But the more I thought about it, I came to realize that it is most important to be truthful and vulnerable.

We all have bad days.  Not everything can go our way all the time. 

So, when we are going through a rough patch, let’s just own it.  Instead of the pep talks and fake positivity, let’s just take a moment to be honest.

Sometimes life sucks. 

There is no such thing as perfection.  Failure is hard to swallow.  Hard work doesn’t always pay off.

Instead of fighting the disappointment, I am going to accept it as part of the process.  I’m sure there is a lesson in it for me, but I will look for it later.

Tomorrow, I will make lemonade.

Today, I am going to eat cheesecake for breakfast and ice cream for dinner. I am going to be kind to myself instead of beating myself up.
